December’s Featured Photographers

Casee & Caleb Baldwin @c3.photography_

Q: What services do you provide and what is your business goal?

A: We are a husband and wife photography duo that specializes in branding, editorial photography, and weddings. The studio is our happy place and we love every chance we get to create! We also provide videography, ad marketing, content creation, graphic design, and branding services. We just launched our business this year, but our goal is to create a full scale creative agency in the next 2 years.

Q: What first drew you to photography, and how did you get started in the field?

A: The honest, short answer - by accident.

Caleb started a job in marketing for a door to door company and was asked to also be their content creator. With no knowledge or experience with cameras, he quickly found he was a natural photographer and loved being behind the lens. After being forced to leave his job, and with no game plan of what to do next, he started teaching Casee the basics. We started shooting anything and everything we could to get experience. In February, we shot our first branding session and the rest is history.

Q: Who or what inspires your artistic style the most?

A: Sebastian Kim, Peter Lindbergh, Vogue magazines,

Q: What challenges have you faced in turning your passion for photography into a business?

A: Time & money. With us both working full-time jobs for most of the year, we’ve had little time to dedicate to photography. And it’s more than just taking photos. It’s about creating an unforgettable experience for clients, editing and finding your style, managing and growing your social media, running a website, handling finances, and wearing many other hats. But through MANY late nights, free gigs, out of pocket expenses, studying marketing techniques, and learning to use Instagram effectively, we’ve finally found our groove and have never been happier.

Q: What advice would you give to emerging photographers looking to start their own business?

A: Make your clientele your community. Once we stopped trying to book clients and started growing our community, our business boomed.

Never shoot on auto and take the time to learn your manual settings inside and out. To be a real photographer, you need to know how to adapt to every lighting situation.

You must know how to learn, and never stop learning new things. Read articles, invest in classes from people you look up to, and don’t be afraid to fail and try again. You got this!

Q: Why did you choose Studio Elevn for your photoshoot?

A: We choose Studio Elevn for our high-end photoshoots because it provides multiple looks, is clean and modern, and is a great big space for large teams. The lighting is beautiful at any given time of day, and we’re able to use our studio lighting without it getting in the way.
