We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on November’s featured photographer, Maegan Grendell. Whether she’s capturing the raw energy of a live concert or the authentic smiles of her portrait clients, Maegan’s work is always full of life and emotion. We got the chance to chat with her about her experiences at Studio Elevn, her passion for photography, and what keeps her inspired to keep creating.

Why Maegan Loves Studio Elevn for Her Photoshoots in Salt Lake City

Why did you choose Studio Elevn for your photoshoot?

I used Studio Elevn for an educational content weekend/workshop that I hosted in September for photographers from around the country. I decided on Studio Elevn for my photography workshop because it was the one studio that checked all my boxes when I was searching for one to use. I knew I wanted to do three photoshoots at one time in the studio, and split my workshop attendees into groups to rotate through the photoshoots. Studio Elevn offered enough space to do so. The studio also offered a blank canvas for my photoshoots, while also leaving room for diversity in the different walls and lighting. The lighting in this studio never fails me!

I also was going to need a few props for these shoots that Studio Elevn already had in the studio. This sense of convenience sealed the deal for me! Studio Elevn offered only positives and no negatives to hosting my photography workshop there. I can't wait to create here again!

What photography services do you provide and what are your business goals?

I photograph portraits (mainly couples and seniors), and concerts! I aim to cater to clients that prefer a more non-traditional approach to photography! In addition to shooting and working with my clients, I also offer learning opportunities to other photographers by hosting educational content weekends to help them grow their portfolios and learn more about running their business. My business goal is really to empower each person that I work with, while also capturing a story and emotion in each photo. I love that I get to work with so many kind and amazing people that trust me to capture their life and turn it into art.

What inspires you as an artist?

People! My favorite part of my job is the people, so just getting to photograph the simplicities and joys of life with them is so rewarding. I hope that through my work people see life in a more creative, passionate, loving way! I would also say that movies and music inspire my work, as I try to carry the cinematic and nostalgic vibes of my favorite songs and movies into my work :)
